John Dale Drills also offers seed drill conversions to incorporate the Seed Hawk knife coulter. The coulter is attached to a spring tine, giving sufficient force for min or low till scenarios, whilst also allowing the tine to trip over stones.

The Seed Hawk knife is only 1/2" thick, which compared to that of many of its counterparts, is very narrow. The reduced width of the tine reduces the power requirement of the whole drill significantly, whilst the tine still creates sufficient tilth around the seed for excellent establishment.

A number of different types of drills can be converted, the most popular of which is the 6m Simba FreeFlow. The power requirement is reduced from approximately 250hp to140hp.

The benefits of the Dale Conversion are:

  1. The drill can be used in min/low till situations as well as conventionally.
  2. Low power requirements reduce drilling costs.
  3. Reduced purchase price.
